Voice Liberation

Feel it to Heal it

Voice Liberation is a powerful method that uses the voice to access and release subconscious blockages and suppressed emotions.
When we let go of words —which still keeps us on the level of the thinking mind— and allow our voice to express freely, we can access parts of our mind where suppressed emotions, unhealed wounds, and stuck patterns can be accessed at the core and be brought to the light.

Many healing modalities are focusing on using words to describe our feelings instead of actually truly connecting with the deeper layers within ourselves that want to be seen and felt.
Even healing modalities that include a somatic component—such as breath work, yoga, or shaking practices— are often still not making use of the transformational power that lies within our own voice.

Of course there is so much healing that can happen without integrating the voice. But in my long journey of inner healing and having been to countless workshops, retreats, and spiritual conferences, I have never experienced any healing modality that can facilitate the release of subconscious blockages and suppressed emotions as powerfully and deeply as the free expression of our own voice.

We were all using this natural healing medicine when we were little, but most of us forgot about it. We learned to be silent and behave ourselves, and in our far and wide search for spiritual solutions we forgot that one of the most powerful tools for transformation was within us all along..!

No singing experience is needed for this whatsoever, and Voice Liberation is in no way a ‘singing class’. In my experience I do see that the more subconscious blockages people release, the warmer, more melodic and harmonious their voice becomes. I’m often moved to tears by people who all said they couldn’t sing, but when connecting to their authentic voice, they start sharing the most beautiful and heart-felt expressions I ever heard!

During the workshop, I experienced what seemed like a true heart opening where it actually felt like my heart cracked open and many tears flowed. I don’t have words for this experience except that it felt like a profound healing.

I finally experienced that I am love. That it is really true! You guided me there. Your voice, your music, your silence, your love… You guided me straight into Love. Finally a method that brought me into the love-experience. Finally exercises with little words and thinking. Finally my overworked head got peace. The countless questions I had before didn’t matter any more. The Voice Liberation, the sighing… it all brought me into the Love-experience. My heart is open again. I feel my Self.

My own story

I grew up in a blended family of five children. Since my brothers and sisters all had their own form of struggles and challenges going on, I subconsciously took on the role of the child you didn’t need to worry about. I was the clown of the family, the one who would perform and make people laugh. I was the joyful, smart, and responsible one.

But underneath my smile and outer success, lived a lot of anxiety and suppressed pain. I was very comfortable showing my joy and trying to make others feel good —but I never learned to express what was hidden beneath my joy and truly give space to all that wanted to be felt.

When spirituality became an essential part of my life, I used big Truths such as “only Love is real” as a way to spiritually bypass my emotions instead of actually feeling them.

When both A Course in Miracles and Voice Liberation found me in my early twenties, that all started to change…

Where A Course in Miracles is constantly guiding us not to be afraid to look within and release all we have built against Love, for most people —me included— there is too much subconscious resistance to fully surrender ourselves to Love. So we become very good at understanding every spiritual concept intellectually, but forget that who we truly are cannot be intellectualised, it can only be experienced.

Voice Liberation became the bridge for me to allow the deeply liberating teachings of A Course in Miracles directly in my heart instead of in my head.

When I stopped running away from my feelings and instead allowed my body and voice to express freely, I began accessing parts of myself that my thinking mind had never been able to reach. Grief I didn’t know I was carrying could finally be released. Anger I had learned to judge and suppress could move through me. Fear, shame, guilt, and all the tears I had been swallowing for years — all of it was finally welcome.

My voice began showing me what my mind had learned to hide.

And slowly I realised that the joyful little girl I had always been didn’t need to disappear in order for the suppressed parts of me to be heard. Quite the opposite. The more space I gave to everything I had been pushing away, the more authentic and effortless my joy became.
